Simple repeatable body movements become elite level swings.
I thought I had a pretty decent understanding of swing mechanics. When I met my mentor, my baseball knowledge expanded 10 fold. Stanton Cameron played professionally and coached for the Milwaukee Brewers as a hitting coach for 14 years. The system we teach is simple but high level. Understanding basic body movements and when to do them is what we are about.
We focus on 4 things:
#1-Stance
#2-Launch Position
#3-The slot and connection
#4-Finish our swing high
Swing Mechanics
-
Be balanced and strong. Other than that, BE YOU! For the most part, I will never change a students stance!
-
Getting our front foot down and closed, hands loaded, and more weight on the back leg than the front. Hip coiled and ready.
-
As the hips and lower half drive and turn our hands and upper half, barrel stays close to the shoulder and connected. Top arm elbow slots down next to the hip until contact.
-
Like it says, finish high by your shoulder.
